Book Sale – CFUW Saanich Peninsula

The Canadian Federation of University Women’s Annual Book Sale at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney on Thursday, July 27th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. We’ll have carefully selected recent paperback and hardcover books in good condition, all priced very reasonably. You may find some great selections for yourself or gifts for other book lovers you know. We’ve been doing this for over ten years and it’s become more popular each year.

Why raise money with a book sale? Well, books directly align with our scholarship program, of which we’re very proud. Annually, we award scholarships to four young women from Peninsula high schools. to continue their education. The scholarships range from $1,200 to $4,000 and can be applied to either college or university costs, which continue to rise substantially each year. We also provide scholarships to students at the University of Victoria and Camosun College. The funds we raise from our book sale are essential to the scholarship program. And though our members have long finished their formal educations, our mission emphasizes life-long learning. Reading a good book just fits right in.

So, please set aside some time on July 27th to drop in and see what great books we’ll have on offer. We look forward to seeing you.
